STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — The president of Penn State is getting a 2.5% salary increase and trustees are making it retroactive to the beginning of July. The Board of Trustees on Friday voted unanimously to boost Eric Barron's base pay to $855,000 a year. He's been Penn State's top administrator since 2014. The Centre Daily Times says that together with an annual retention bonus of $200,000, Barron will be paid more than $1 million.
EBENSBURG - One woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash late Monday night in Cambria Township. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said the accident happened just after 10 p.m. on Route 422 near the Route 219 interchange. A woman in her 60s was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, where she later died in the emergency room, Lees said. The woman's name has not been released pending notification of the family.

JOHNSTOWN – The two people who died in Tuesday’s early morning murder-suicide in Richland Township have been identified. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees identified the couple as Amanda Bennett, 20, and Matthew Dunkleberger, 22. Lees ruled Bennett’s death as a homicide and Dunkelberger’s as a suicide during an afternoon news conference in the Central Park Complex in downtown Johnstown. Bennett and Dunkleberger, who were in a relationship and lived in a townhome at Aspen Woods, each died of a single gunshot wound to the head, Lees said.

RIDGWAY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Battle of the Barrel event began Wednesday in Elk County, along Main Street in downtown Ridgway. Organizers say this was their big comeback after a 15-year absence. Firefighters from five departments around the area competed by shooting water on a metal barrel hanging off a wire. The goal is for the teams to get the barrel to the other team's side of the wire. It was a double-elimination competition.

Van Zandt VA Medical Center are using video games that utilize neuro-feedback in order to re-train the brain to be less reactive to triggers. The treatment gives the patient feedback on what's happening in their brain in real-time. It works by attaching sensors to a person’s head, over specific regions of the brain.
