BEDFORD CO, Pa (WJAC) — The newly built Silver Lining Drive-In, located in Bedford County, has announced its 2021 movie schedule, according to a release from the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce. Movies will be presented on Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day, including additional dates in April and around Halloween. Last summer, 60 area businesses came together to build the new drive-in theater and now it can be put to use.
FAIRHOPE, Pa. - An elephant belonging to the Pittsburgh Zoo gave birth to a calf one month early Wednesday at the zoo's International Conservation Center's Maternal Care Barn in Somerset early Wednesday morning. Seeni, one of the zoo's three elephants from Botswana, gave birth to a 184-pound calf a month ahead of schedule. "Seeni wasn't expected to calve until the end of June, so to walk in in the morning and see this tiny little elephant attempting to stand on wobbly legs was a total surprise,"

An Altoona man is behind bars after resisting arrest and attempting to disarm a police officer on school grounds in the Bellwood Antis School District April 26, police said. According to a criminal complaint, police were requested to the scene by school security officers in regards to a male behaving "suspiciously". Police said that the male, identified as Daniel Richardson, 39, was on school grounds in camouflaged clothing with two pit bulls running loose.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Two weeks ago Robert Levin and the parent company of Levin Furniture signed a letter of intent which would have allowed Robert Levin, the former president and owner of the Pittsburgh-based Levin Furniture to buy the business as the business was going through Bankruptcy Court restructuring of the parent company Art Van Furniture, LLC. On Thursday, Levin learned that the parent company decided to close all Levin Furniture and Wolf Furniture stores immediately, to terminate the employees, and not proceed with the terms of the aforementioned agreement.
Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Last weekend, a local high school wrestler beat multiple Division One college wrestlers to win a regional tournament. High school sophomore Bo Bassett won the 133-pound Clarion Open title on Sunday. Bassett beat Pitt redshirt freshman Vinnie Santanello in the final. Santanello is ranked in the top 15 in his weight class. Bassett said he was nervous to wrestle against that level of competition, but that the pressure made him perform better.
TIPTON, Pa. (WJAC) — DelGrosso's in Blair County believes that brighter days are ahead. DelGrosso's remained closed last season due to the pandemic. This summer, the amusement park and Laguna Splash Water Park are slated to open, and DelGrosso's needs to hire hundreds of people to make it happen. HANOVER, Pa. (WJAC) — A pair of Pennsylvania bald eagles welcomed their first hatchling of 2021 into the world this week, according to Raptor Ecology Specialist Zoey Greenburg. The eaglet, the first hatchling in the Hanover nest this year, arrived Saturday around 6 a.m. The pair of eggs were laid in the first week of February. “This objectively adorable fluff ball is officially the third member of this year’s Hanover family, and its sibling is likely preparing to emerge as we speak,” Greenburg wrote in the Hanover Eagle Blog.

Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday by claiming he had committed war crimes while defending his country from Hamas terrorists. “Genocidal maniac,” Rep.
