HARRISBURG, Pa. (TND) — An upcoming bill in the Pennsylvania Senate would ban migrants from being eligible for state public housing. Migrants entering the state have become eligible for an emergency housing program, which allows them to obtain a housing voucher, State Sen. Wayne Langerholc, R- District 35, said. The senator called out President Joe Biden in a memo on the bill Wednesday, blaming him for that state’s migrant problems.

Authorities say a 16-year-old Ridgway girl has been charged with stabbing another juvenile. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 12:32 a.m. on July 8, Chelse Kurtz, of Elk Avenue, reportedly stabbed a 15-year-old girl in her abdomen near Center Street in Ridgway Borough. The stabbing took place during an altercation between the two girls, according to the affidavit. Officials say the victim was flown to UPMC Altoona where she underwent surgery for damage to her internal organs.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The security guard at an Amazon facility who died following two gun-related incidents Sunday was identified Monday as Ali Hamsa Yusuf. According to a statement from West Jefferson police in Ohio, Yusuf was working as a security guard at the Amazon fulfillment center in Columbus. Police said he fired at least one shot at the facility Sunday afternoon, then took off before officers arrived. About 90 minutes later, officers caught up with Yusuf near the intersection of Georgesville and Clime roads, and a shootout ensued.

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) — A political sign with profanity can be seen in a window from outside Fresno City Hall in California. Someone reached out to KMPH to say they found the sign offensive because in Spanish it says F#@$ Trump. The anti-trump political sign with Spanish profanity can be seen in Fresno Councilmember Miguel Arias' office window. KMPH News reached out to Arias for an interview or comment. HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) -- The Hollidaysburg Public Works Department collects around 20 water from homes in the borough every three years. Several samples collected last year brought back some high numbers. “I’ve been here 19 years and we’ve never had high lead levels in any of our water systems, so I was a little surprise to us,” said Rick Pope, Hollidaysburg Borough director of public works. Pope said three water samples, taken in the third quarter of 2019, showed high amounts of lead.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A tornado destroyed homes, forced the evacuation of a nursing home and toppled trees and power lines when it roared through a small Oklahoma town, one of several twisters that erupted in the central United States amid a series of powerful storms that stretched into Tuesday. At least one death was reported. The tornado ripped through the 1,000-person town of Barnsdall, about a 40-minute drive north of Tulsa, on Monday night.
