CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Nearly two weeks after the recent primary election, close to 100 mail-in ballots in Centre County are being challenged as to whether they are valid ballots that should be counted. Election officials say 98 mail-in ballots were initially counted as valid by Centre County's election board, but they remain under review. The issue is how the returned ballots were dated, or not dated. On election day, the county's primary count center noted possible problems with how the ballots’ outer envelopes were dated.

A company has recalled some of its dog treats after a sample tested positive for salmonella, according to the United States Food and Drug Administration. Stormberg Foods announced that its chicken dog treats, which were sold under three brands, were recalled after the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services said their treats were tainted with the bacteria. The treats included on the recall have a product code on the back of the package to the right or left of the UPC barcode.

New York (AP) — A man was arrested in Peru after U.S. officials say he sent 150 bomb threats to U.S. school districts, synagogues, airports, hospitals and to a mall last month, according to Department of Justice officials. Investigators said Eddie Manuel Nunez Santos of Lima, Peru, approached young girls on an unnamed gaming platform posing as a teenage boy named "Lucas" and requested they send him sexually explicit photographs of themselves.

An Altoona woman has been charged after police say a toddler was left in a hot vehicle. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 5 p.m. Friday, 28-year-old Anna Stern entered a Dollar General store along North 4th Avenue in Altoona and left the toddler in the vehicle. While she was shopping, a man had entered the store and was shouting for whoever left the child in the vehicle. According to the affidavit, after Stern spoke with the man, she chose items from her shopping cart that she deemed more important, and then headed to the checkout.
