CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Fundraising to repair and refurbish Bellefonte's Kepler pool is ongoing, but organizers say it’s going to be awhile before the pool is reopened. The pool was a popular community resource for decades at Bellefonte’s Governors Park, but it was closed a few years ago due to badly needed upkeep. Since then, over a million dollars has been raised, but organizers say the pool's total repair cost is now close to three million dollars.
JOHNSTOWN -- Cheers, chants and a full house greeted former President Bill Clinton as he took the stage at Pitt-Johnstown on behalf of his wife former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is campaigning to run as the Democratic candidate for president. With the Pennsylvania primary election just days away, Clinton addressed issues that hit home for Johnstown including the heroin epidemic across the region. Clinton mentioned one solution Hillary Clinton pushes for is more treatment facilities in our area.
A special ceremony took place during an Altoona Area High School football game this evening. The Highschool’s football team, the Mt Lions, as well as staff and students honored veterans who served our country during the game. During half-time the school’s principal presented an honorary diploma to Vietnam veteran, George Swartz. Swartz left the high school in February of 1968 during his senior year to enlist in the U.S. army. He served in Vietnam and tells us that there is one person he really wished could have seen him get his diploma.
FLORIDA (WKRC) — A lawsuit has been enacted after a mother from Florida died last year due to a "grenade"-like explosion from a counterfeit airbag during a car crash. Destiny Marie Byassee was only 22 years old when she was in a frontal collision in her 2020 Chevy Malibu on June 11, 2023. She purchased the Malibu from DriveTime, a used car company that operates nationwide, according to the lawsuit.

WASHINGTON (TCS) — Republican U.S. Sens. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., and Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., introduced two measures that, if passed, would achieve a similar objective: to place on the No Fly List individuals who are encouraging violence against Jewish persons and supporting terrorist organizations. They introduced a bill, the No Flights For Terrorists Act, and an amendment to U.S. Code to require the Federal Bureau of Investigation to put on the No Fly List anyone who calls for violence against Jewish people, pledges allegiance to U.
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A stabbing suspect is among Pennsylvania State Police Troop A’s most wanted. Troop A, located in Ebensburg, released their five most wanted Wednesday. Among those wanted is 27-year-old Jaiquain Taylor who’s accused of stabbing a man at a home in Reade Township last month, according to investigators. Troopers say 26-year-old Tucker Weems is wanted for aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children. They say 23-year-old Cyle Reed is wanted for strangulation, simple assaults and terroristic threats.
PORTAGE – State police said Friday that they have found a missing 74-year-old woman from Cambria County in Maryland. Police said they located Patricia Arpino Friday and she is safe. CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Pennsylvania state police say a fugitive college student wanted in the killings of two people in Connecticut is now believed to be in Hagerstown, Maryland. Authorities say they believe 23-year-old Peter Manfredonia was spotted Tuesday night in northeastern Pennsylvania which prompted a fruitless hours-long search. Troopers said Wednesday, Manfredonia was possibly sighted at a Sheetz in Chambersburg and they later recovered a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe at the same Sheetz.
